Tail Light Wiring Kit Installation - 2008 Chevrolet Silverado

Today on our 2008 Chevy Silverado, we'll be installing the TrailerMate Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles, part number TM780017. Note, we've already gone ahead and lowered and removed the spare tire to gain easier access to the rear tail-light wiring. Here at the back of the vehicle, at the vehicle's crossmember, near the driver's-side frame rail, will be electrical connection ports. We're looking for the blue wire connector. Once we locate it, we'll go ahead and press on the locking tab and remove it from the port. Then to get a little easier access to it, I'm going to go ahead and feed it up over the crossmember and then bring it down so that we can go ahead and remove the electrical tape that secures the wire loom in position. Now we'll go ahead and peel back the wire loom and locate the two brown wires, one yellow wire, and one dark green wire. Once we've located these wires, we can then go ahead and start connecting the new TrailerMate wiring harness. To begin, we'll go ahead and take one of the brown wires on the vehicle and cut it in half. more
